Yes, you can buy Pomi tomatoes (packaged in a BPA-free TetraPak carton) at Whole Foods. I bet other places have them, too, but I know Whole Foods sells them because I've bought them there myself. Even with Pomi, however, there are tradeoffs. The tomatoes are not organic and they're far from local, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather avoid the BPA. I made a soup last week that called for diced tomatoes and I used Pomi. The soup was better than it's ever been, and I think the tomatoes were part of the reason why.

Hi there!

I found your blog through a friend of mine, whom I'm now sharing a CSA with!, and am enjoying what you're offering here. My question (among the many :), is: do you know a store that sells tomatoes in any way, shape or form that *aren't* in a can? I can't find any at Whole Foods, which is the only place I might assume they do so. I live in a studio apt. in downtown Denver, and have absolutely no room or time to do canning or freezing on any decent scale. And, since I just got involved with the CSA, tomatoes aren't part of the crop I'm currently getting anyway. Ideas, suggestions??
